Every product page lists the label dosage, for example 2.5 ml per litre of water for Jet Zyme or 5-10 kg per acre for Navasiri Soil Star. A micronutrient such as zinc, boron or magnesium is a nutrient the crop needs in small quantities, and a deficiency causes visible symptoms. A bio stimulant such as a seaweed extract helps the plant grow better, flower and tolerate stress. Many farmers use both: micronutrients to fill nutrient gaps and bio stimulants to boost plant performance.

Not always. Sprays correct a problem quickly but supply small amounts. Soil application gives a steadier supply, so many farmers use both.

No. Keep the dose per litre as printed on the label. If coverage looks thin, adjust your walking pace, nozzle or number of tanks instead.

Early morning or late afternoon, when it is cool and the wind is low. Midday heat dries the spray quickly and can stress the leaves.

Check the label for composition, manufacturer address, batch number and dates, and buy from an authorised dealer who gives a bill. Compare the claims with what is reasonable for that kind of product. If anything looks unclear, contact the manufacturer directly before use.

Soil boron is sometimes used, but because the safe range is narrow, small errors in dose can harm the crop. For farmers, a measured foliar spray at the label dose is easier to control. Always follow the label and your agriculture officer's recommendation.

Look at the pattern. If the older, lower leaves turn yellow between green veins while newer leaves stay normal, magnesium is a strong suspect. If the whole leaf is pale, think nitrogen. If young leaves are affected, think zinc, iron or sulphur. A soil or leaf test gives the final answer.

Testing every one to two years is a good habit, and it is especially useful before changing crops or after seeing repeated problems such as yellowing, poor flowering or low yield. Always take samples at the same depth and season so you can compare results over time.

Early morning, after the dew has started to dry, or late evening is best. At these times temperature is lower, leaf pores are open and the spray stays wet longer, so more of the nutrient is absorbed. Avoid spraying if rain is expected within a few hours because it can wash the product off the leaves.

Organic fertilisers mainly supply nutrients from organic sources, whereas bio stimulants act in small quantities to stimulate plant processes such as growth, nutrient uptake and stress tolerance. Some products overlap, but the purpose is different, which is why you should read what the label claims.

Leaf reddening at the boll-filling stage is frequently linked to magnesium shortage, along with cool nights, heavy boll load and potassium imbalance. A magnesium foliar spray together with balanced potash often helps. Because several factors can cause reddening, confirm with a leaf or soil test where possible.

The most common reasons are heat or water stress at flowering, low boron and zinc, and damage by thrips or mites. Check weather and irrigation first, then look at the plant for pests. If leaves are healthy and there is no pest, a balanced micronutrient and boron spray often improves fruit retention.

No. Khaira is a nutritional disorder caused by a shortage of zinc in the soil or in the plant. Spraying fungicides or insecticides will not cure it. The correct approach is to supply zinc through the soil, as a foliar spray, or both, and then maintain good field management so zinc stays available.
